FAQs
Everything you need to know about our helicopter joyflights
How do I book my joyflight?
You can book and pay online using our Epay system. Once your booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation email from us with details of your flight. We recommend booking online at least five days before your flight—any bookings with less than five days notice should be made by phone directly to the office of your closest training school.
If you don’t have a credit or debit card to make an online booking, feel free to call us and make arrangements to pay by electronic funds transfer, cheque or money order.
What if the weather is bad?
Should the weather be an issue, we will contact you before your flight, however you are welcome to ring our office before you leave home to confirm. Flights are still conducted in overcast conditions, light drizzle and light to medium winds where flight safety is not compromised. Should we cancel your flight for any reason we will do our very best to accommodate your availability when re-booking.
If my flight doesn’t go ahead or I need to cancel, can I get a refund?
If we have cancelled your flight due to operational reasons, you are entitled to a full refund less any credit card charges. If you have cancelled your flight with more than 48 hours notice you will receive a full refund less any credit card charges, however if less than 24 hours notice is given a cancellation fee comprising 50% of the flight cost is applicable.
What days are joyflights available?
Our scenic flights are usually conducted between 9am and 3pm each day. If you wish to fly outside these times, please contact us by phone to make a request.
What happens on the day of my flight?
Directions and a map to the heliport will be provided with your booking confirmation. You will need to bring your voucher with you and arrive 15 minutes before your booking time. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
When you arrive, the relevant flight documents will be completed and each passenger will be weighed individually. A pre-flight safety briefing will then take place in and around the helicopter. Dangerous goods must not be carried on the flight and passengers may be required to carry a lifejacket supplied by us on their person, depending on the type of flight. This is merely a safety precaution. Once these requirements are completed, you are ready to take to the skies and enjoy your flight!
Please refer to the terms and conditions of your flight before you book, particularly regarding vouchers that may be voided if you miss a booked flight time.
